Thanks John. For the benefit of our audience today, could you please explain a few of the terms and definitions used Sopra the IFC research? John Arzinos: While there's no universally accepted definition of disability, according to the United Nations, and I'm quoting, "Persons with disabilities include those who have-long term physical, mental, intellectual, or sensory impairments, which, Per interaction with various barriers, may hinder their full and effective participation Durante society on an equal basis get more info with others."

Of course. We found plenty of examples for both LGBTI inclusion and disability inclusion Con emerging markets, and I'm happy to share some highlights. For example, Argentinian state-owned Banco de la Nacion announced a 1% target for transgender people Durante the workforce as part of an agreement with the banking industry's labor union, Asociacion Bancaria. The Kenya Bankers Association, or KBA, adopted financial inclusion for persons with disabilities as a strategic goal Durante 2019, and since then, the KBA has worked with several banks operating Durante Kenya as well as the independent trust called Financial Sector Deepening Kenya and local nonprofit called Enable to develop a roadmap for the industry to tackle accessibility challenges.

So number one, improve data collection and track progress to strengthen the business case for LGBTI and disability inclusion. You see, Ruth, many people consider these two groups to be very different, but Sopra truth, they share a Cuore common characteristic. They're both severely underserved and hold tremendous potential. So, to give you some examples, the size and potential of the untapped LGBTI banking market is significant and it is growing Sopra importance. Estimates suggest that the LGBTI population has a collective annual spending power of 3.9 trillion US dollars, and that they could represent up to 10% of the global population.

“I’m not sure where we would turn. I don’t believe there’s another place that aligns with our values and provides the supportive environment we seek, surrounded by the people we want to be with,” she said.

Third, competing systems are being developed for public reporting and for reporting to supervisory and other authorities. This can be seen across Europe, the U.S., Asia, and at the national level. A lot is going on, but it needs to be better aligned so investors can make decisions based on comparable and consistent public reporting. Equally, however, participants agreed we should not be too pessimistic about this giorno issue. More and more patronato are being produced and becoming available. Moreover, giorno are improving over time, which should be recognized as a step forward. It is important that supervisory authorities and central banks identify the gaps and find ways to fill them. There is also an increasing degree of convergence across international standards for climate-related reporting and accounting. However, there will always be some differences across international standards, and across the national implementations of these standards. It may be better – and certainly more realistic – to create and build upon small successes, rather than try to introduce a single harmonized global system. That would overestimate the global capability to cooperate. Stress testing Supervisory authorities and central banks (and indeed financial institutions) already conduct regular stress and ambiente tests on individual financial institutions and on parts of the financial sector. The new challenge is how to integrate climate-related risks into the stress testing process. Participants discussed various aspects of this issue. The first one related to the patronato problem – the lack of credible data on climate-related risks and on the potential impact of these risks on financial institutions and on the financial system. Second, data collection alone will not be sufficient. It is also necessary to process and analyze patronato within climate-related stresses and scenarios for insights into the impact of climate-related risks for financial institutions. Third, there is also a need for more forward-looking giorno. For example, parts of the insurance sector and its supervisors have good historic giorno on physical risks and their impact on insurance claims. There has also been some modelling of the impact of climate change on the magnitude of physical risks. However, Per mezzo di practice, the severity of physical risk events has been underestimated – the current situation differs from past experience. There has therefore been a greater emphasis on paesaggio analysis that does not just set out pathways for climate change, but also the possible physical risk that might arise from each pathway.

Hello, everyone, and welcome to this Toronto Centre podcast. Today we will be talking about two new publications on inclusive banking practices that advance the economic inclusion of persons with disabilities and LGBTI people. These reports were released earlier this year by the International Finance Corporation, the private sector arm of the World Bank.

One starting point is to consider the mandates of supervisory authorities and central banks, some of which are much broader than others. Some authorities have interpreted their mandates – especially where these cover financial stability, the safety and soundness of financial institutions, and efficient market functioning – to allow a growing focus on the transformation of economies to carbon neutrality or other net zero targets. The Bank of England is a leading example of this, becoming increasingly involved Per mezzo di many aspects of this transformation and the role of the financial sector.
